Data protection

1. Logging

Relevant access data is stored every time the web server is accessed. The Bayerische Eisenbahngesellschaft mbH (Bavarian Railways Company, BEG) web server is operated by SpaceNet.

The log record contains the following information:

  • IP address of the requesting computer

  • Date and time of the request

  • Access method/function of the requesting computer 

  • Input values transmitted by the accessing computer (file name, ...)

  • Access status of the web server (file transmitted, file not found, command not executed, etc.)

  • Name of the requested file

  • URL from which the file/desired function was requested

Stored data is used solely for the purposes of identification and tracking of unauthorized attempts to access the web server. Stored data is used for no other purposes than data security. Logged data is stored for a period of three months and then deleted. Evaluation is undertaken by SpaceNet.

In the course of registration for, and use of, “My Journey Planner” the user’s personal data will be stored. This will be held solely for the purpose of implementing the preferences entered by the user. The Bayerische Eisenbahngesellschaft mbH (BEG) has engaged a technical operator for the operational management of the Bavaria Journey Planner. The personal data of the user will not be disclosed to third parties by BEG or the technical operator. There is no user-related evaluation of the data. When a user profile is deleted all personal data are erased from all records.

2. Active components

No Java Applets or Active-X controls are used by the BEG information service.

3. Email security

If you send us an email, your email address will be used solely for correspondence with you. Disclosure to third parties will occur only as far as is necessary to provide an answer to your request.

4. Disclaimer

The BEG information service contains links to other websites that are identified in this way: (Link to new window). The link is used by BEG to facilitate user access to this content (§ 9 German Teleservices Act). It is not responsible for such “external” content, since it does not transmit the information or select the recipients of the transmitted information, and has not selected or chosen the transmitted information. Due to the call-up and linking methods selected, there is no automatic, intermediate or short-term storage of this “external information” on the part of BEG, such that BEG bears no responsibility for such external content.

When setting up the initial linkage to these internet offers, however, BEG did check external content to ascertain whether it would possibly entail liability under civil or criminal law.

5. Web analysis

This website uses Google Analytics, a web analysis service of Google Inc. (“Google”). Google Analytics uses “cookies”, text files that are stored on your computer and which enable analysis of your use of the website. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website (including your IP address) is sent to a Google server in the USA and stored there. Google will use this information to evaluate your usage of the website, to generate reports about website activity for the website 

operators and for other website and internet usage related services. Google will also pass this information to third parties where necessary if this is required by law or if third parties process this data on behalf of Google. Google will never associate your IP address with any other Google data. You can adjust your browser software as appropriate to prevent the installation of cookies; however, we would point out that if you do so, you may not be able to make full use of all the functions on this website. By using this website you agree to the processing of data about you by Google in the manner described and for the aforementioned purpose.

You can revoke your consent to the collection and use of your IP address by Google Analytics at any time and with immediate effect. For further information, see
